Stanton House

“A truly amazing spot. Not too far to reach but at the same time miles from the buzz of the busy life…”

Stanton House is a beautiful country house just North Of Oxford, with 10 bedrooms, making it the perfect size for our retreats.

Situated in seventeen acres of land – a green sanctuary with ancient trees, a peaceful stream at the bottom of the hill, and open view towards the Chilterns, and Oxford and the surrounding area. There are plenty of corners to rest and sit, ponder and relax and a prayer/meditation cabin to enjoy the view.

Sheep are often found enjoying the fields, and pheasants, deer and badger are seen regularly in the grounds too. Flowers give rhythm to the passing seasons and the panorama constantly changes as the seasons pass by.

Once you open the door of Stanton House, you find yourself in the entrance hall with Victorian tiled floor before entering the large main hall where there is a cosy corner with Danish wood burner. There\’s a coffee corner and a small but useful bookstall with a comfortable seating area, so you can enjoy your cups of tea and coffee, and indulge yourself by trying the famous afternoon cakes and enjoy the beautiful view.

From the main hall you can access the dining room with a lovely view through the large bay window to the Wellingtonia tree. Two lounges are also accessed from the main hall. The larger one has a piano and many windows, and the smaller one has a TV, a stove burner and bookshelves. Each of the homely bedrooms has its own unique character and are all different in shape, size and décor.
